|

Hey JLPT geeks,
I am planning to take JLPT 2 next year.
So firstly and was wondering if someone else is
-in the same boat,
-living in Tokyo and
-willing to form a study group to "kill the beast" together.
Secondly I am not yet sure what is the best course of study. Can you recommend on a particular language school (yes, they all have pro+con, but what was your experience)? Now I am working on JLPT 3 and so far I took regular evening classes to get here. That forced me to stay on track and time, but not all the teachers were great.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
お疲れ様です

I wish I could, but what with me living in the state of New York and all...
but I thought I'd reply anyway.
The posts here can get so lonely (no replies???) sometimes.
God luck on the test .. oh.. next year's test! |

I am going to take JLPT Level 2 this December 2009.
This is my second try. I failed last year
I am not that confident that I will pass this year, but I am doing my best on studying.
There are still many Kanjis that I cannot read.
Need to work on my vocabulary too.
I bought some books for reference.
I do self study. Getting on a class is too expensive for me.
I still do not know how to effectively study for JLPT 2.
My style in studying for Level-3 and Level-4 is not applicable in level-2
By the way, I am living here in Chiba City (6 mos).
Just want to clarify, did you mean "Tokyo City" for "Tokyo" or "Tokyo area".
I am always confused about Tokyo. Because, sometimes when I ask a person where in Japan he/she stays, they say Tokyo, and when I ask where in Tokyo, in Yokohama( ). Also, Tokyo Disneyland is in Chiba.Tokyo Narita airport, is in Chiba prefecture. Please correct me if I am wrong with my understanding. |

I passed level three last year. I then finished studying Minna no Nihongo book 2 and am about to move on to the intermediate books.
Specific for JLPT 2 I have only been studying the Kanji (almost half way there). I figure this December is a practice test and next summer i will have a better chance of passing if I learn some grammar and practice my listening.
There are lots of free classes here in Akita. I pay 1000 a month for my class. Only once a week for an hour and a half. But I get to ask a lot of hard questions about grammar till my brain melts.
Maybe you can find some community classes?
If you study on your own, I think those practice test books might be good. You can look at what grammar you don`t know and just research grammar points one at a time on line and with your text books.
Good luck.

Hi there,
I wish I could sit for the Level 2 exam in this year, I'm currently in the half way of this level.
But as officially announced that the grades for JLPT has already amended and added, which there will be another level in within level 3 to level 2?
Anyways, my teacher frankly told me that Level 2 is much more difficult than the past levels.. which means I'll not pass this level as easy as how I could in the past.
Will have to put double or more efforts beginning from this level, to be more involve in a proper circumstance to master the grammar and vocabs!
Try our best & Good Luck! |

I'm going for N2
If I can't make it that far, I'll have to take N3 |

I'm taking the N2 as well...so not ready, but I'm armed with new textbooks!!!
Hopefully I'll be ready in time XD
My friends who took it last year all failed...that makes me kinda nervous ^^;
I'm not sure where my nearest test center is...it's probably Tokyo though.
I'm in Saitama |
