First of all, hello everybody, I'm new in this forum that seems really interesting to me...
I was reading some topics about which level to choose, and I'm more or less in the same situation. I'm preparing for N4 in december, but I would like to know if I can already try for N3, since the N4 is pretty much "useless" (I mean, not for personal reasons, but for academic or working situations where is necessary at least the N2...) so I was thinking that to fail at N3 or to pass the N4 is not such a big change.
I'll try to explain my situation:
I will finish Genki 1 by the end of this month, know the kanji, words and grammar that are in the text. Hope that I will finish Genki 2 in another month and half...let's say half september. I am quite free now so I am studying around 4-6 hours per day by myself.
Do you think I have any chance to pass the N3 in december or should I do the N4?
And also: if I will try the N4, do you think in another year I could reach the N2 level? Like, the n3 in July 2013 and N2 in december 2013?
Thanks, sorry for the long post

Not meant to make you dissappointed, but I already take a brief look at Genki, and I say that book is not enough even for N4. |
