I have changed the text in all the pages at www.jlptstudy.net to reflect the new post-2010 changes. I always use the term post-2010 to refer to the new levels, which I think is clear.
Only levels N3, N4 and N5 will be covered. edit: I have now added N2
Much of the content is reused but labeled with explanation to ensure the user understands the lists are not official but good estimates.
There is not much Level N3 content yet, but I have formulated a kanji list - http://www.jlptstudy.net/N3/
I did not use anything from past level 2 and I did not guess or copy and paste randomly. This is a precise list formulated (using database filter/query) which I think is pretty reasonable (any opinions to the contrary are welcome)
Here's the logic:
There must be between 300 and 1000 kanji, therefore, I estimate about 650.
I take all kanji from jouyou (japanese school) grades 1 to 4 and filter out those which are already in level's N4 and N5.
This brings the total kanji in the N3 list to 361 (earlier levels total 284 + 361 = 645), which is close, and thorough (students who study this list will at least know all the kanji that they could reasonably be expected to know).
I will probably tidy up the grammar in this and other parts, and the front page images need to change to reflect the 'N' in the levels but progress is being made. |
