Nowadays the results usually come back in the second week of February (in Japan), it might be a little longer for those outside of the country though.

Some signing places offer online accounts from where you can check your results before they reach you. Personally, they always arrive in March because the place that receives them is closed from January to March :-X

From what I've heard from people outside of Japan, it seems like results get back in mid-March for those countries that don't have a July test. For those countries that have a July test, the results are sent back earlier.

I think this is so you know your previous test results before you apply for the new test.

In other words if you fail, you can re-take the test. If you pass, you can take the next higher test or take a break.

I definitely remember getting mine back in early February of last year, and I'm in the US. I posted here on the board on February 3rd with my score, but now that "my account" is closed due to the hacker last year, we'll have to wait. But even then, my certificate arrived maybe a week after I saw the results.

What do you mean "my account" was closed? Here on jlptstudy.com?

The official site where you register, (at least for US residents) http://www.jpf.go.jp/jfla/ had an area called "my account" where you could log in, register for the test, change information about yourself and in February, you could also see your results about a week or two prior to the arrival of your results by mail. It was hacked this summer, and a few thousand credit card numbers were stolen. As a result the site took this section down, which means no preview of results this year. Sad

if you're in Japan, this website says they'll be sent out on Feb 10 -- and if you don't get it by Feb 18 you can call them. fingers crossed, one week left...!!

Congratulation whatever JLPT level you passed Smile

Can you add a little text about how do you learned japanese ? what was your learning-path from the basic hiragana to the jlpt level xxx you pass ?

I am curious to know how and how long did it take you to go to that level ...

Thanks.

Cyril
I have the old jlpt4 three years ago, since that I procrastinate Sad

Well I've gotten my results for the N4 test now. I did the test in Denmark.

These are my scores:
Language Knowledge (Vocabulary / Grammar) - Reading
79 / 120

Listening
40 / 60

Total Score
119 / 180

Vocabulary: B
Grammar: A
Reading: A

So I passed the N4. The results are about what I expected. I was pretty sure I was going to pass but I knew I wouldn't get a high score.

I started learning kana around 2004 but postponed further studies until the summer of 2009. During 2010 I took a University course in Japanese. I studied on my own before and after the course.

The University course helped me much and I've also been using Anki for vocabulary and kanji. I think that if I were to retake the test today my score would be better.

I got my results today. I took the N2, and have the following results:
Code:

言語知識 (文字・語彙・文法)
22 / 60 or 37% (last year: 47 / 100 or 47%)

読解
29 / 60 or 48% (last year included grammar: 118 / 200 or 59%)

聴解
49 / 60 or 82% (last year: 86 / 100 or 86%)

得点
100 / 180 or 55% (last year: 251 / 400 or 63%)

Vocabulary: B
Grammar: A

I did pass (just), though I was so sure I had made it better than last year, but the results proof otherwise, sadly Sad. Seems I have to study even harder now for the July N2 test in Dusseldorf to get better results.

Well Done Newby! Lay off the websites featuring teen Japanese gals frolicking about - then you can do even better in July.

Gambatte!
