With a little under 5 months to go until the JLPT, how is your preparation going? Have you started studying yet? Are you already waist deep in Kanji?

Personally I'm wading through the 1級 vocab lists, just trying to get a handle on both the vocab and the Kanji that I need to know. Feeling semi-confident about the reading at the moment but will definitely need to work on my speed.

I've done nothing... u_u Not that I really expected much more of myself this year! My husband and I moved to a new city last month, which has provided more pressing matters than studying (job finding, furnishing, etc...). However! This city has much better Japanese-related resources (I may even get a job teaching Japanese, or with Japanese nationals) so I hope to pick it up soon.

Truthfully, since my score for 2kyuu was JUST over the passing mark, I plan to focus on cementing the things I studied for it (and have probably forgotten) and finishing the 2kyuu books I didn't get through. Of course, this most likely means I won't be passing 1kyuu--but I'm fine with that. I'd rather try my hand at it than retry 2kyuu for a better score.

Good to hear that you have a found a place that better supports your study (and maybe even your work)

Good luck with your study Kates and I look forward to hearing how you go over the next few months.
