Hello, I'm new here^^
I just got back from the Level 4 in Milan, I'm so angry with myself. I think things went almost ok apart from making a very very stupid mistake on the second part of the listening paper. I just went ahead and took the example as question 1...when I realised my mistake it was too late and my paper was taken away from me.
So I ask: it's sure I made some mistakes in the first part (kanji+vocabulary), 3-4 max, and at least 10 in the third part (grammar & comprehension). Considering that in the first part of the listening I made max 3 mistakes (+ probably the 9 in the second part), have I some possibility to pass this exam? I mean, can I reach the 60% if I only made the mistakes that I've wrote up above?
Thank you for listening me^^; |

Hi! I just got back from the JLPT Level 4 test in London.
It's been a rather long day with the exam (the test centre had problems with their listening equipment and collecting papers which added another hour to the test) and with me getting various train delays to finally get back home.
I don't want to analyse the exam too much mainly because I'm so tired from doing the test today but I thought it went ok especially as I'm a self study learner (I don't go to Japanese classes).
I guess within a few days someone will have uploaded the 2008 exam on the net but I don't care. I'm just glad that it's over and I can look forward to Xmas and stuff. I actually took the test last year and I thought I would have passed but I did the silly mistake in the second part of the listening test by putting the example down as question 1. I didn't do that this year!
Fingers crossed for 'everyone' when the results come out in late February/early March! |

hi guys,
haha now that i heard you guys saying, i'm actually laughing out loud here haha.
I got the same problem with my listening. I actually wrote down the answers for the examples, despite i seriously remembering that the thing said that "renshuu shimashou". haha stupid me.
Anyway, i did realised my mistake when i go into question 7 and 8 i think. Because i realised i had no more slots for me to fill into!! hahaha.
I did quickly change the answers accordingly while the disc is playing an example for the part 2 of the listening. But since i had no time to confirm the answers, i would say i'm still in a mess haha.
I'm taking the paper in Singapore anyway. |

Everything went really smoothly at my test site, although before the test I was pretty much freaking out as I didn't study further than taking a look at the vocabulary list, and was hoping that I would just know enough from my Japanese classes. At least partially due to the hellish tests I'm used to getting in my Japanese class, the test seemed extremely easy and now I'm stoked for next year's test, though I'm determined to study for this next one to avoid the pre-test freak out I had this year. XD;;
Here's to hoping everyone else passed. ^_^ |

i really dont know to judge if it was easy or not...I think wud make good score.
i am doubtful about few questions in every section...
like: ni hyakkai or ni hyakai or ni byakkai or ni byakai in Section 1.
can anyone clarify on this...
Thanks in advance.
Apparently, the question: mo sukoshi ____ ho ga ii desyo came in level 3 2008 paper too.. I made a mistake in this. I chose "matsu no" instead of matta (

^ i think the right one was "nani wo tanomimasuka?"
I took the test in Milan too...
i was really worried on it, since when i tried on the previous papers i got always around 70%, but this one was pretty easy...xD
except for that 2-hyakkai and one "choudo" which i didn't know the meaning of...
i don't know if i have the patience to wait till march XD i hope that answers will be on the net before that!! |

じぶんでつくるサンドはおいしいです。
The sandwiches I make by myself are delicious.
In English we require both a doer (I) and the qualifier (by myself) to make a complete sentence. In Japanese, the doer can sometimes be dropped, as in this case. Don`t let that fool you into thinking で marks the doer of the action.
ははがつくるサンドはおいしいです。
The sandwiches my mother makes are delicious.

yes =]
the only answer could be no/ga.
and like ericspinelli said zibunn can take de as a reflexive word, but as a subject can also take no/ga.

母の作るサンドイッチが好き?

yikes..
i put "de" for that
coz there was one context where i remembered the "PTT" rule
People, Things, Transport - uses ”で” before "action"
people _で_ action
transport _で_ action
thing _で_ action
i wasn't sure about the answer myself.. but i reckon it sounds funny to put で there..
For me,
Paper 1 - OK
Paper 2 (listening) - Easy
Paper 3 - Didn't get quite a few quetions.. |
